Receives Thousands of Political Decampees from Various Parties into APC

* Decampees’ Influx Demonstrates Growing Confidence in APC — Gov. Radda

Vice-President Kashim Shettima, has received thousands of new members into the All Progressives Congress (APC) from various political parties in Katsina State, describing the development as a demonstration of growing confidence in Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s leadership.

The Vice-President received the decampees on Sunday at the People’s Square, Government House, Katsina, during his one-day official visit to the State.

Addressing the gathering, Shettima expressed confidence in Governor Radda’s leadership and said the Federal Government remained committed to supporting his administration.

He said the growing support for the Governor and the APC reflected the confidence of the people in the direction of the State under the Radda administration.

“Katsina is for Dikko Radda. It is not for anyone,” the Vice-President declared.

Shettima said Governor Radda’s performance had earned him the confidence and support of the people, commending his commitment to the development of Katsina State.

“We are proud of you, Governor Radda,” he said.

The Vice-President also welcomed the new APC members, describing their decision to join the party as a significant boost to its political strength in Katsina ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He said the influx demonstrated the growing support base of the APC in the State and urged party members to remain united and focused on the party’s objectives.

Earlier, Governor Radda welcomed the new entrants into the APC, describing their decision as evidence of growing confidence in the party and its leadership in Katsina State.

The Governor acknowledged that the APC had faced political challenges in the past but said the situation had continued to change, with prominent politicians and members of different political parties now returning to or joining the ruling party.

He said the latest entrants included former APC members, members of the Action Alliance (AA), former Deputy Legal Adviser of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Sallau Karawa, as well as serving lawmakers and other political stakeholders.

Radda described the development as a significant boost to the party’s grassroots structure, saying the growing support would further strengthen the APC across the State.

He expressed confidence that the APC in Katsina would continue to play a major role in supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and securing victory for the President in the 2027 general elections.

The Governor also highlighted several projects and interventions being implemented by the Tinubu administration, stressing that the Federal Government’s development initiatives were contributing to the transformation of the country.

He said the partnership between the Federal Government and Katsina State had continued to yield positive results, particularly in infrastructure, economic development and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of citizens.

Radda urged APC members and supporters to remain united and committed to the party, stressing that collective effort was necessary to sustain the gains recorded under the Tinubu administration.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State, Dr Bashir Gambo Saulawa, attributed the growing influx of politicians and supporters into the party to the achievements of the Radda administration and the confidence it had continued to inspire among the people.

Saulawa welcomed the new members into the APC, assuring them that they would be fully integrated into the party and given the opportunity to contribute to its growth and development.

He said the development had further strengthened the party’s grassroots structure across the State, urging members to remain united and work collectively towards consolidating the gains of the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The APC Chairman commended Governor Radda for providing purposeful leadership and called on party members to sustain their support for the Governor and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

On his part, former Secretary to the Katsina State Government, Dr Mustapha M. Inuwa, welcomed the new entrants into the APC and called for unity among party members.

Inuwa described the APC as his political home and urged members to put aside their differences and work together towards strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

“We do not have time for anything that will undermine our collective interest. Our concern should be how to win elections and ensure the success of the APC,” he said.

He pledged his support for Governor Radda and called on party members to work together from the grassroots to strengthen the APC and ensure its continued success across Katsina State.

Inuwa described his return to the APC as a homecoming, stressing the need for members to work towards a common political objective.

He also urged the new decampees to remain committed to the party and contribute to its growth and development across the State.
