Exercise targets communities in Kankara, Malumfashi and Musawa LGAs

The Katsina State Community Development Programme (CDP) has commenced participatory rural and field appraisal exercises in four communities selected to benefit from micro-development projects across the state.

The exercise was conducted in Bedi Bakwai and Yanzauruka communities in Kankara Local Government Area, Unguwar Daudu in Malumfashi LGA and Tsuntsaye in Musawa LGA.

Speaking during the exercise, the State Coordinator of the CDP, Associate Professor Kamaladdeen Kabir, said the initiative was designed to enable beneficiary communities identify and select the projects they consider most important to their needs.

Kabir, who spoke through the leader of the technical team, Ibrahim Umar Kankia, urged the communities to prioritise projects based on their most pressing needs and their potential to improve living conditions.

He also called on the communities to ensure transparency, accountability and fairness in the implementation of the projects once approved.

The coordinator further urged members of the beneficiary communities to support Governor Dikko Umar Radda’s bid for a second term, saying continued support for the administration would enable the communities to attract more development projects.

Other members of the technical team, including Engineer Abubakar Ibrahim and Faisal Umar Jibia, explained the criteria and guidelines governing the selection and implementation of the proposed micro projects.

In separate remarks, chairmen of the Community Projects Management Committees in the four communities pledged to ensure that the projects were implemented in line with approved specifications and guidelines.

They also expressed support for the governor’s second-term bid, citing the need for continued infrastructural development in Katsina State.
