Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has received Hon. Balarabe Lawal Daga, former ADC candidate for Baure/Zango Federal Constituency, and other defectors from the PDP, NNPP, and ADC into the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Baure Local Government Area.

Governor Radda, on Saturday,  described the defection of thousands of the opposition members as a significant boost for the APC and a vote of confidence in his administration’s development agenda.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Governor said the decision by stakeholders from different political parties to join the APC was a clear sign that his government was on the right track.

"Today is a historic day. Critical stakeholders from Baure have decided to come together under the APC. This shows that our message of unity and development is resonating," Governor Radda said.

He called on APC members and supporters in Baure to embrace peace and unity, noting that cooperation at the grassroots was key to strengthening the party and delivering results.

Governor Radda commended the people of Baure for their peaceful disposition and continued support for government programmes. He reiterated that his administration remained focused on governance and service delivery.

He cautioned stakeholders against turning the event into a political campaign, stressing that the time for campaigns would come at the appropriate period.

The Governor listed key areas of government intervention to include water supply, education, healthcare, agriculture, road construction and social empowerment. He assured that communities across Katsina State would continue to benefit from government projects irrespective of political affiliation.

"Development is for everybody. Our responsibility is to ensure that people feel the impact of government, regardless of their political background," he said.

Governor Radda also acknowledged requests presented by the people of Baure and promised to review them and address those that were feasible within available resources.

"I have heard the needs of the people of Baure, and I will look at them carefully to see what we can do," he assured.

He urged new and existing APC members to work together as one family for the progress of Baure and Katsina State. He further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to programmes that improve living standards and create opportunities for youths, women and vulnerable groups.

He described the decampees as a valuable addition to the APC and said Baure had benefited from the Governor’s investments in water, education, health, roads, agriculture and empowerment.

Also speaking, the APC Chairman in Baure Local Government, Alhaji Sani Sale Baure, formally presented the defectors to the Governor.

He said the decision of the new members to join the APC was influenced by the visible achievements of the Radda administration. He added that more people were identifying with the APC because of credible leadership and tangible projects. He assured the Governor of the party’s commitment to grassroots mobilization.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Hon. Balarabe Lawal Daga expressed appreciation to Governor Radda for receiving them.

He said their decision to leave their former parties was based on conviction that the APC-led administration is committed to bringing development closer to the people.

"The achievements we have seen in education, roads, water, agriculture and empowerment convinced us to join the APC. We are joining APC because of development," Daga said.

He pledged the group’s loyalty to the Governor and the party, and promised to mobilize support at the grassroots, including house-to-house engagement, to strengthen the APC in Baure.

He called on their supporters and associates to align with the administration for the continued development of Baure and Katsina State.
