Hon. Olujuwon Obasanjo, son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027 after joining the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement as Special Adviser on Political Affairs.

Olujuwon made his position known on Wednesday during a visit to the movement’s headquarters in Abuja, where he was formally received by its National Coordinator, Comrade Sunday Adekanbi.

The visit also featured a tour of the organisation’s facilities, during which he was briefed on its structure, activities and nationwide mobilisation efforts.

Describing his appointment as an honour and a privilege, Olujuwon commended the movement for its grassroots engagement, community outreach and efforts to promote the activities of the Tinubu administration.

He said he had been monitoring the organisation’s activities and was impressed by its efforts, expressing readiness to contribute his political experience towards achieving its objectives and mobilising support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

The younger Obasanjo argued that the President had made a positive start in office, urging Nigerians, particularly young people, to support the administration and sustain what he described as its ongoing reforms.

He cited salary payments, infrastructure development and investment opportunities as areas where he believed the country had recorded progress, insisting that such achievements should be consolidated through continuity in government.

He expressed confidence that sustained public support would give the Tinubu administration the opportunity to build on its policies and deliver further results for Nigerians.

Olujuwon also disclosed that he had been a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) since 2014, explaining that members of the Obasanjo family were free to pursue their individual political interests and hold different political opinions without hostility.

Earlier, Adekanbi welcomed him into the movement, describing him as a politically experienced individual whose background in leadership and governance could strengthen the organisation's mobilisation efforts.

He expressed optimism that Olujuwon's appointment would bring additional political insight and experience to the movement as it intensifies its activities across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Adekanbi added that the organisation was pleased with his decision to join, describing it as a demonstration of his willingness to contribute to Nigeria's development.
